To me the coolest thing by far that the Internet has done, is open up the world and make it available to anyone. Not only through websites that provide instant information on other world areas, but through the people of the areas themselves.
I’ve had friends from several of the states, Canada, over the pond in England, Germany, Norway, Australia and more. One of the more interesting friends I’ve had was from India. I learned much about the country itself plus it’s customs through personal pictures and stories of this person’s life.. it was fascinating!
I also got to know a college student through an online conference and found out he lived less then an hour away and attended the college that my daughter was attending. We spent many hours chatting online and even in person over dinner.
Never before have we had opportunity like we do today and yet I see many people not taking advantage of it. Networking is not only beneficial for your business, it is fun and interesting and you’ll even learn a few things about the way other people live.
As I’ve stated before, forums are a great place to meet people. The Members Forum has some great topics of discussion and I can practically guarantee that you’ll learn something that will benefit your business there.
Many businesses and even some exchanges now have conference rooms.. take advantage of these! The people there share many of your interests or you both wouldn’t be there.
Another platform that is being used now are social networking programs such as Facebook. Facebook allows you to make new friends, meet current
friends and keep up on what they are doing. From sharing pictures to writing posts on each others ‘walls’ there are many, many features that make it easy to keep in touch with people of similar interests.
One of the cooler things is the ability to create a group. One can be created for any special interest that you might have. You can then invite people to it or, since it is listed in their group directory, attract and meet new people of similar interests.
In addition to my personal facebook page, I have created a HitSafari group! This is obviously for the members of HitSafari and hopefully will be a meeting place where we can get to know more about each other.

Every week each member who has surfed at least 50 times on 5 separate days of the week, Monday - Sunday, is entered into a drawing. 5 members are chosen randomly and are awarded credits.
Prizes are either credits in the amounts of:
500, 400, 300, 200, or 100.
If there are over 200 surfers who qualify, prizes are inceased by 50%. If there are over 300 who qualify, prizes will be doubled!
