The rotator now has a ‘see my other sites’ link. I believe this is unique to HitSafari and allows surfers the opportunity to see everything that you are advertising. The Rotator itself will rotate all the urls you have listed that have credits assigned to them. It’s a great advertising tool and and with the new look will attract a lot of attention.

I’d like to know what surfing ratio the other exchanges are offering. It’s at times info that is hard to find so you might have to search some, but I think it will be a good list to have. This is for MEMBERS only.. no TE Owners.

Concentration

No matter how you describe success, whether it be fame or fortune, long life or any of several definitions, the root of any success is the ‘achievement of something desired, planned or attempted’.

Success equals achievement.. accomplishment.. reaching the goal of finishing what we started.

Successful people commonly share many of the same traits. One of those traits is the ability to concentrate.

Orison Swett Marden, an American author and founder of Success magazine stated that “Concentration is the factor that causes the great discrepancy between men and the results they achieve…”

I write about focus quite a bit which is essentially the same thing.. concentrating our energy on one project, one program, one income opp without being distracted by the next ‘latest and greatest’ that will always be there to tempt us.

As a kid did you ever get your dad’s magnifying glass out on a sunny day? I’ve heard that by focusing the heat of the sun through the magnifying glass you can fry an ant rather quickly… concentrated energy focused on the ant.

I can’t say that I ever tried it, sounds cruel to me, but what we did do was get the roll of caps for our cap guns and lay them out on the sidewalk. That concentration of the suns energy gave us a very satisfying, albeit small, explosion.

The trait of concentration works much the same.

By focusing all our energy on one idea or project, we will achieve it. This applies not only to a finished project, but to each step of the process.

Our success should not be defined by the volume of projects we undertake, but by the quality of the projects we finish. Careless work in a number of different areas can never compare to one accomplishment well done. We also experience discouragement far less because our complete attention is focused on one thing, not divided among a dozen or so uncompleted projects that we need to get back to.

I’ve heard people say before that they can’t concentrate.. that they simply can’t stay focused on one project. Concentration, like many characteristics or habits, is a learned process. We don’t just wake up one day and discover our concentration gene has kicked in. We need to develop the characteristic of concentration and gradually we will see it begin to infiltrate and bring success to all areas of our lives.

Concentration should not be a sporadic thing. It needs to be developed and fostered. This can most effectively be done by mastering small things and then applying the learned techniques to other areas.

Start, for example, by concentrating on getting through all of your new email each morning. Delete the things you don’t want, file the things you do, respond to those that need responding to.

How many times have you clicked on a link in an email to determine whether it is something that you need to act on and when you arrive at the site you start reading and something you read reminds you of something you saw someplace else or another link grabs your attention and you click away from the first page to something else that leads you to another site which has to be read immediately and on and on you go and before you know it 2 hours have passed and your email still sits unattended to?

I think I can safely say that has happened to most of us.

What I have done is created a bookmark folder labeled Temporary. When I come across a site that interests me while doing something else, going through email, surfing, talking to someone, I add it to the folder and then when the project that I’m working on is completed and I have some extra time, I open my temp file.

Another way to foster concentration is by carefully choosing what we focus on.

I personally find it more difficult to concentrate on something that doesn’t interest me. It can be done, and sometimes it needs to be done, but all things being equal, I’d rather focus my attention on something that I enjoy.

There will always be the debate on whether you need to be passionate about a subject you want to write about or build a site around. Sure you could develop a squeeze page and a set of autoresponder messages and write some articles about the physiology of back pain, but if you’ve never experienced back pain and could care less about the physiology of anything, then why do it? Just because the latest PLR info you received addresses the issue isn’t a good enough reason.

While passionate is a rather strong word, finding a subject interesting is going to make the whole process so much more entertaining and, more specifically, much easier to concentrate on. Give yourself all the advantages you can and pick an interesting subject matter for your project.

One final thought on concentration.

Concentration is not a frenzy of activity performed under the pressure of a deadline. It shouldn’t be stressful to concentrate neither should it be only mental with no activity.

The ability to concentrate frees us to do our best work and work requires action.

I recently moved my elliptical machine up from the basement to the living room. It’s not a huge room so this piece of exercise equipment can not be ignored. There are times that I sit and stare at this overpriced coat rack and envision myself using it for 20 minutes non-stop and working myself up to a full episode of Oprah. I even concentrate on how good I will feel once I’m in better shape and lose a few pounds.

But you know what? In the two weeks that thing has been sitting next to the couch I have not lost one single pound or improved my health one bit. The reason is simply because there has been no action. Along with a person’s concentration there must be actual performance.
