Happy Canada Day
Happy July 1st! … and to our many Canadian friends, Happy Canada Day!
How was your weekend? I have to admit to struggling a little bit with my no working rule. Saturday was easy… we spent the day in Kearney where one of my daughters lives and where two others are spending the week on the Wal-Mart parking lot.
Why are they doing that you might ask?
Selling fireworks of course.
I can pretty much tell the age of the person that I’m talking to by whether or not they think sitting on the Wal-Mart parking lot in a black metal box, in July, in Nebraska, selling fireworks sounds like a lot of fun. My vote is no, but then I’m old.
I must be old.. my baby, the youngest of 7, Kate, turned 17 on Saturday. She, being young, thought it would be great fun to spend the week with her older sister on a parking lot which is why we all met up in Kearney on Saturday. We had a fun day of helping to set up the black box of death… shopping… playing video games… and having a birthday supper at a local BBQ place.
Sunday proved to be a bit more difficult for staying away from the computer… I did check email and messages and did some shopping online which isn’t the same as working… right?
I have a free download for you today… It’s an excellent report entitled 4 Letter Killer. It doesn’t try and sell anything and you don’t have to leave your name and email anywhere to get it.. just download and enjoy.
I came across a great organization at FirstBook.org whose mission is to get books into the hands of the children of low-income families… kids who might otherwise not even own a book. As a book lover myself we’ve always had an abundance of books not only for ourselves but for our children as well… I cannot imagine a child not owning a book.
One way that you can help be a part of my desire to support FirstBook is by purchasing credits.. For the month of July, for each credit purchase I will donate the funds for one book to FirstBook.org. Yes, I could just send them some money, but this sounds like a fun way to allow everyone to participate. I hope you think so too. I’ll keep you updated.
Have a great week!

Hey Paula, You do such an amazing job on your newsletters. Thanks for the free gift, I can’t wait to read it, and also thank you for supporting a great cause like FirstBook. You are an awesome person and one I am proud to call a friend!
Brett
Hi Paula,
I totally agree with Brett. It’s great that your children had books to read. As a child, I read a lot, too, and found it really makes a difference as an adult. As for buying credits, I’m in!
Happy Canada Day! I’m just curious, what is the origin of Canada Day?
Warm wishes,
Joe
Hi Paula
What a great idea, I think my happiest days when growing up were when I had my head in a book and could let my imagination takeover.
I am definately going to buy credits.
Keep up the good work with HitSafari.
Regards
Keith
Thanks guys..
Any Canadians out there want to enlighten us as to the origins of Canada Day or so I need to Wikipedia it?
Keith.. I like the idea of your traffic hot list.. it’s nice to have that info all in one place.. I’m looking forward to the ‘finished product’
I am not a Canadian, I live Europe, but wish you , and all Canadiens a very happy Canada Day.
